lift JKU 4x4 garage/mechanic

Mensaje por Dutchdaan » 16/Feb/2018, 11:25

Hi Guys,

I have a question, I like to lift my wrangler JK with a 3.5 JKS suspension lift with fox shocks.
I don’t have the place to do it myself.
So my question is can anyone recommend a good 4x4 garage/mechanic between Malaga/Marbella that can do this for me?

Thanx!

Hola chicos,
Tengo una pregunta. Me gustaría levantar mi Wrangler JK con un kit de 3.5" JKS con amortiguadores Fox.
No tengo dónde hacerlo yo mismo.
Mi pregunta es si alguien puede recomendarme un buen garaje/mecánico de 4x4 entre Malaga/Marbella que pueda hacer el trabajo por mí.

Going with more than 3 inches requires adjustable control arms to correct caster, double joint cardan, extended brake lines ...

Go with a 2 o 2.5 inches kit that will only require new spring and shocks, is safer to be done even by a non thrustable garage.

Another question is driving it legaly, is your license plate Spanish ? if true you will also have to pay for a enginer project and surpass a inspection.

Thanks for the replay,

My license plate is still dutch, it would be a lot cheaper to get it imported in spain, I pay 2336 euro a year on road tax alone, you gotte love a Jeep :?

The JKS kit is in 2.5 or 3.5 inch kit, my choice to go with the 3.5 inch lift was to have enough clearense to go to 35 inch tyres (in the future when I do my axels)
In addition to the kit I like to replace the standard controlle arms, put in a drag link flip kit and a Adjustable Rear Sway Bar.
The jks kit 2.5 or 3.5 comes with:
• Front and rear dual rate coils springs
• Fox Adventure Series Gas Shocks Front and Rear
• JKS MFG front adjustable trackbar
• JKS MFG front sway bar quicker disconnects
• Front and rear brake line relocation
• Rear track bar bracket
• Front and rear bump stop extensions

I thought on a 4 doors Jk you don’t need to replace your rear cardan, it’s necessary on a 2 doors with 3.5 inch of lift.

Thanks for thinking with me Ok:: now i get doubt on the 3.5 and maby go with the 2.5 instead.

Them being in the US, it's more than likely that Spanish Customs will stop the shipping and tax it. The tax is 21% of the total cost, shipping included, plus management, which is usually around 20€ for courier companies.

The less they touch, the less they can broke ... 35s will fit even with stock suspension and flat fenders.

It depends more in what you wan't to do with it, disconnect or not, the amount of abuse ...

The front driveshafts on two- and four-door JKs are identical. They are positioned so that they can survive with up to 4 inches of lift. (http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/trans ... eplacement)

But your absolutely right, you can break everything even with a heavy right foot
and 35's on the standard axels i would not recommend it.

I will try to go to http://www.jeeppenafiel4x4.com/ in Malaga today, maybe he speaks english and can help me!

As stated earlier, the front drive shafts are the same between the two and four door models. When lifted, the angle they create is the same. As a result, a good rule of thumb is to maintain within a 2.5”-3” lift range for the front.

About the axles the front d30 will survive 35s with some trussing, if you are not a f*ck*ng animal  The problem is more with the ring gear size to go with low gear ratios, tooths in contact are few and it tends to break.

But going from 32 to 35 don't really need a big increase, from 3,21 to 3,73 or from 3,73 to 4,11 is enough to keep the engine rev a little bit upper at the same speed. Again it depends, CRD / manuals will accept better than auto / V6 the tire grow, as diesel has more low end torque and 1 st gear is shorter on the ngs370 than the nag1, 4.5 to 1 vs 3.6 to 1 or something realy close to it.
